Thomas Edward Smith is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 4 in Logan County Circuit Court on charges of battery in the first degree related to injuries sustained by his stepdaughter, 21-monthold Brookelynn LeAnn Davis, on Sept. 16 at the family’s home in Booneville.
