Nicholas Johansen avoided a possible death sentence by admitting his role in the plot to kill his mother and grandmother.
Johansen, 22, of Garfield was charged with two counts of capital murder and two counts of aggravated robbery in connection with the murders of his mother, Christina Bishop, 40, and his grandmother, Louise Bishop, 81.
He pleaded guilty Wednesday morning under a plea agreement his attorney, Patrick Benca, reached with Van Stone, Benton County's prosecuting attorney.
